The quarterback battle behind Tua Tagovailoa this summer for the was, in a word, unsurprising. There, Mike White was one of the teams final cuts en route to the 53-man roster, helping the team save $3.5 million against the cap while giving backup duties to Skylar Thompson. One has to wonder, though, if the Dolphins might make a move for an outside name now that final cuts are over. For example, the Dolphins could look to the waiver wire and grab a familiar AFC East face in the form of Bailey Zappe. He was just by the New England Patriots. Adrian Houser Jersey The 2022 fourth-round pick has shown upside in spots and doesnt figure to last long on the waiver wire.Perhaps more interesting might be the idea of a trade. As ESPNspointed out, the Cleveland Browns rostered four quarterbacks on their initial 53 and will attempt to trade one of them. That could present the Dolphins an opportunity to go get someone like Tyler Huntley or even the veteran Jameis Winston, the former No. 1 overall pick who is still just 30 years old.Granted, those arent super-exciting options and the players would still need to learn Mike McDaniels system. But last year was the first time Tagovailoa played a full season without i sue, so if the Dolphins feel there is an opportunity to upgrade the backup spot, they will likely do so between now and Wednesday.MORE DOLPHINS NEWS Mark Vientos Jersey
