Hi everyone, I'm hoping some car experts here can explain something to me because I've been reading about batteries for the past few hours and I'm more confused than when I started. I have a 2017 Ford Mustang Ecoboost that I've owned for about three years and it's been a great car. A few days ago I went to start it and the engine cranked really slowly. It did start but it sounded weak. I figured the battery is probably getting old and needs to be replaced. So I started looking online to see what a new battery would cost and that's when I got confused. Some websites were recommending regular lead acid batteries for around 400 dirhams. Others were saying that Mustangs need AGM batteries which cost two or three times that much. I had no idea what AGM even meant so I did some research. From what I understand AGM stands for absorbent glass mat and it's a different type of battery that handles deep cycling better and is more resistant to vibration. Some people say AGM batteries are necessary for cars with a lot of electronics or start stop systems. But my Mustang doesn't have start stop so maybe I don't need the expensive one?
