So my Prado decided to give up on me tonight in the middle of the Zabeel area, and of course, it had to happen after all the shops had closed. I was supposed to be heading out early tomorrow morning, but now I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to get a new battery sorted without messing up my whole day. I've been looking at the Amaron 80D26L since it seems to be the right fit for the 4.0L V6, and I've read that this battery handles the heat here really well with that lead-calcium tech that stops it from drying out in the summer . The problem is, I can't exactly drive to a shop right now, and I'm not sure if there's any service that does 24/7 Amaron 80D26L battery installation in Zabeel on the spot. I've seen a few mobile guys advertised online, but I'm a bit wary about getting an old unit that's been sitting on a shelf for ages, especially since I know the heat here can kill batteries fast if they're not fresh . Has anyone used a reliable after-hours fitter around the Zabeel area who actually checks the manufacturing date before installing? Also, do they usually test the alternator at the same time? I'd rather not fry a new battery straight away if the alternator's the real problem. Any advice would be hugely appreciated right now because I'm honestly stuck.
