I've had my 2017 X5 for a few years now and it's been a brilliant SUV, but the front end has taken a real beating from all the highway driving and inevitable stone chips. The bonnet and front bumper are covered in little white specks where the paint has been chipped away, and there are a few deeper scratches on the rear bumper from who knows what. It's starting to look a bit tired and it's really bothering me every time I walk up to the car. I'm thinking about getting a proper paint correction done to see if it can be restored to a decent condition, and maybe even get PPF applied to the front to prevent future damage. I've heard that a good detailer can wet-sand out scratches and polish the paint to a mirror finish, but I'm also worried that the chips might be too deep to fix without a respray. I've seen a few places in Abu Dhabi that specialise in BMWs, and apparently there are premium BMW detailing specialists in Abu Dhabi that use proper paint thickness gauges and multi-stage polishing systems to avoid damaging the clear coat. I'm leaning towards going for it because the car is otherwise in great shape and I plan on keeping it for a while, but I want to make sure it's worth the investment. Has anyone here had paint correction done on their BMW in Abu Dhabi and found it made a noticeable difference? Also, roughly how much should I expect to pay for a full correction on an X5? Any advice would be really appreciated because I'm tired of looking at all those chips every time I wash the car.
