I just moved to Abu Dhabi from Dubai a couple of months ago and honestly one of the things I'm finding most stressful is not having a go-to garage that I trust for basic maintenance and repairs. Back in Dubai I had a shop I'd been going to for years, knew the guys there, they knew my car, and I never had to worry about being ripped off or getting shoddy work done. Now I'm starting from scratch here and it's doing my head in trying to figure out who's reliable and who's just going to take my money and do a half-job. I drive a 2018 Lexus ES350 and it's been pretty solid so far, but I know it's going to need a service soon and I'd rather have a relationship with a good mechanic before something urgent comes up. I work in the Al Maqta area and live near Khalifa City, so ideally somewhere in between or somewhere around Musaffah would work perfectly for me since that's where a lot of the workshops seem to be concentrated. I've been driving past a few places but it's hard to tell which ones are actually good from the outside. A colleague mentioned I should find out more about car mechanic services in Musaffah because apparently there are some really solid workshops there that don't overcharge, but he's only been here a year himself and hasn't tried many places yet. Has anyone got a recommendation for a reliable, honest mechanic in the area? I'm not looking for a dealer or anything flashy, just a place that knows what they're doing and won't mess me about.
