I'm restoring a 1990s Pioneer receiver I found in my dad's garage.

Hi everyone. I'm restoring a 1990s Pioneer receiver I found in my dad's garage. It powers on but one channel is dead. I'm decent with a soldering iron, but I need the schematic and service manual to trace the circuit properly. Most sites I've found want you to sign up for sketchy memberships or send you in circles. Where do you guys find legit service manuals for vintage audio? I'd really like to keep it original and not just swap random parts until it works.

Vintage Pioneer stuff is great to work on, and a dead channel is usually a fixable fault. I restored a couple of old Pioneer units last winter and pulled the service manuals from ManualMachine https://manualmachine.com/ - their catalog for audio brands is huge, Pioneer has tens of thousands of files listed, including a lot of old service manuals with schematics. It's not totally free for the heavy stuff: full service manuals often cost points, which you can buy, but it was worth it compared to guessing. User manuals are easier to get. Before you start chasing parts, check the protection relay and the output transistors on the dead channel, that's where my problems were. Post pics if you get stuck.
