I want to share what happened to my 2014 Infiniti Q50 and hear if anyone has seen the same thing. The car has about 121,000 kilometers, and for the last month I filled up at a cheaper station near my house to save a little money. At first nothing seemed different, but around the third week the engine started to idle roughly, the needle wobbled a bit at the traffic light, and the car hesitated when I pressed the pedal to overtake. Yesterday it also coughed once right after starting, which never happened before. My cousin says it is the bad petrol and the injectors are dirty now, so I need a cleaning. My neighbor says that is just a story workshops tell, and a bottle of cleaner in the tank will fix everything for a few dirhams. A friend at the office told me to change the spark plugs first, because rough idle is almost always plugs. I do not know who to believe, and I do not want to pay for the wrong thing. I read a page from a workshop in Mussafah about injector cleaning, and it explained how the injectors spray fuel into the engine, how deposits make the spray uneven, and that a proper job starts with checking the fuel pressure and scan data instead of cleaning blindly. That made sense, but it did not tell me how to know if my car really has that problem. Since I live near Shabiya, I typed Expert Infiniti injector cleaning in Musaffah Shabiya into my phone one evening, mostly to see what the service includes and how long the car stays in the shop. So here is what I want to ask. Can one bad tank of petrol really clog injectors, or is it usually something that builds up over years? Is the bottle in the tank worth trying first, or is it a waste? Also, do workshops test the injectors before cleaning, and can you see a difference in the numbers after? One more thing, if I go back to my usual station and the problem fades by itself, was it just the fuel? If you had the same rough idle, please tell me what fixed it and what you paid. Thanks everyone.
